The Timber Creek Wolves are still winless after their match against the Astronaut War Eagles on Wednesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Timber Creek fell just short of Astronaut by a score of 48-45. While losing is never fun, Timber Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while Astronaut is ranked 269th).
Despite the loss, Timber Creek still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Koerber, who scored 16 points. Alex De Leon was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Timber Creek bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Astronaut, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Timber Creek will be home for the holidays to greet Tohopekaliga at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Astronaut and Boone will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Boone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
