Meanwhile, the matchup between Ferndale and Harper Woods on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Ferndale snuck past Harper Woods with a 60-55 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ferndale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janiya Larry, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Frost, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Oak Park's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Ferndale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Oak Park have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ferndale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
