ITW David Speer Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Bulls College Prep as they made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Pride have won 14 contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Anabel Diaz made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Diaz was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Brianna Robles was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Miabella Collazo was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
ITW David Speer Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Lincoln Park was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They lost 10-1 to Saint Ignatius College Prep. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Wolfpack recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Lincoln Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
ITW David Speer Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Lincoln Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. ITW David Speer Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .446. However, it's not like Lincoln Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
