The Shaker Bison will head out to square off against the Colonie Central Wolfpack at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Shaker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Shaker is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Columbia, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Shaker was ranked tenth). The Bison walked away with a 5-2 win over the Blue Devils on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bison.
Shaker got a great performance from Ryan Brissette as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Langston Buddington was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiran Casey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Colonie Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Niskayuna 4-3.
Caden Duffy looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Blake Defilippi and Tyler Bilka did most of the damage at the plate: Defilippi went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Bilka got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was Bilka's first of the season.
Colonie Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Shaker's record is now 8-1. As for Colonie Central, their record now sits at 9-1.
Shaker came out on top in a nail-biter against Colonie Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
