While losing is never fun, the Scotties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Lancers are ranked 47th).
Union Area's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4. As for Neshannock, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Area will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shenango at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Neshannock, they will head out to take on Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neshannock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Our Lady of the Sacred Heart likes a good challenge.
