The Riverside Generals's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bishop Kenny Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Riverside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Bishop Kenny is ranked 14th).
Riverside suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Nease, falling 56-27. Riverside was down 38-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, Bishop Kenny waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They really took it to Mandarin for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-18 win at home. Bishop Kenny has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.
Clare Coyle and Riley Talbert were among the main playmakers for Bishop Kenny as the former scored 13 points along with two steals and the latter scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Baker, who scored five points.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Bishop Kenny, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with that win, which was their 22nd straight at home.
Riverside was taken down by Bishop Kenny 67-22 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Riverside, Sophia Rueppell (who scored 15 points along with two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
