The Llano Yellowjackets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on Lake View with a sharp 66-42 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-15.
Llano's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Kachura, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Baker, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Lake View still got an impressive performance from Joseph Delgado, who scored 15 points. Joseph Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Llano has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Lake View, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Llano will square off against Brady at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brady will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1038th, while Llano is ranked 437th). As for Lake View, they will head out on the road to face off against Irion County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
