Kenwood hasn't had much luck against Perry Hall recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bluebirds will head out to square off against the Gators at 4:00 p.m. Kenwood has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Kenwood came up short against Hereford on Tuesday, falling 14-4.
Peyton Regulski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored no runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Lam, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Perry Hall sidestepped Carver A&T for a 7-6 win. That's two games straight that the Gators have won by just one run.
Savannah Carl made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Madison Carl was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Addison Dunlap, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Perry Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Perry Hall is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Kenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Kenwood came up short against Perry Hall in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 8-3. Can the Bluebirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
