If the Cleburne Yellowjackets were feeling good off their 64-36 takedown of the Austin Panthers last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cleburne fell 56-43 to Midlothian on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Cleburne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1034th, while Midlothian is ranked 374th).
Alex Gilmore was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds for Midlothian. The contest was Gilmore's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Almodovar, who scored 13 points.
Cleburne's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Midlothian, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Cleburne will head out on the road to face off against Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burleson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Midlothian will be home for the holidays to greet Joshua at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
