The Falcon Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Harrison Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Falcon came up short against Sand Creek and fell 52-45.
Falcon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Christian Bertholf, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Eric Graham who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Graham has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Jeramiah Potts was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Harrison won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. Their rough 75-55 defeat to Mesa Ridge might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Harrison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Mesa Ridge is ranked 23rd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kenneth Jones jr, who scored 24 points along with three blocks. That was a full 43.6% of Harrison's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeilo Hamenyimana, who scored 16 points.
Falcon's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5. As for Harrison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
Falcon came up short against Harrison in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 50-45. Thankfully for Falcon, Jordan Davis-voss (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
