It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Boone Grove Wolves can now relate to. They suffered a tough 42-21 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats on Friday. While losing is never fun, Boone Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Wildcats are ranked 151st).
Hanover Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabi Comia out in front who scored four points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Comia has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Sienna Stilley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Boone Grove has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Hanover Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.
Boone Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hanover Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Highland is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
