Vista PEAK Prep stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Thomas Jefferson 71-46. Given Vista PEAK Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Thomas Jefferson is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista PEAK Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Brown III, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Brown III hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Alante Monroe-Elazier, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Denver South waltzed into their matchup on Friday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 win over Rangeview.
Dominic Rhoades-Martinez was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Rhoades-martinez, who scored ten points.
Vista PEAK Prep has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Denver South, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
