Softball Recap: Arizona Lutheran Academy Wins Going Away Against North Valley Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arizona Lutheran Academy). Everything went their way against the North Valley Christian Academy Lions on Wednesday as Arizona Lutheran Academy made off with a 24-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Coyotes with their most commanding win of the season.

Elie Drexler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero hits, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ella Peltzer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jenna Danzeisen, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Arizona Lutheran Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Arizona Lutheran Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Valley Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Arizona Lutheran Academy will welcome Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Arizona Lutheran Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kingman Academy at 3:45 p.m. on April 22.
