Two dominant signal callers in Logan Lindsley and Carson McDonald are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Shelby-Rising City Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the McCool Junction Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shelby-Rising City comes in on seven and McCool Junction on six.

Meanwhile, it looked like the Kentucky Derby when McCool Junction faced off against Centennial on Friday. The Mustangs took their matchup with ease, bagging a 40-6 victory over the Broncos. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mustangs had established a 24-point advantage.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jaxon McDonald and Marcus Chambers. McDonald rushed for 86 yards on only 11 carries while Chambers rushed for 29 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Chambers has posted since back in September of 2024.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something McCool Junction proved: they limited Centennial to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Jameson Weiss for the heroic effort on defense: he. McCool Junction didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.7.
McCool Junction didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as McDonald, Ja Soukup, and Carson picked up one apiece. Soukup is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.
Shelby-Rising City's record is now 7-0. As for McCool Junction, their record now sits at 6-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Shelby-Rising City has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 287 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like McCool Junction struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 240.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Shelby-Rising City against McCool Junction in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-6 win. In that contest, the Huskies amassed a halftime lead of 70-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
