Putnam Vo-Tech had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 78-67 to the Newman AA Cardinals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newman AA to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bennett White, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Prestin Bollin, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points plus seven rebounds and five assists.
The win got Newman AA back to even at 1-1.
Putnam Vo-Tech will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Longmeadow at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Newman AA, they will be playing at home against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
