Effingham scaled the state rankings by moving to 433 from 469 this week, the biggest jump in Apollo. The Flaming Hearts climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Centralia 28-6.
Paris fell to Central 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Mt. Zion's 6-foot-3 quarterback Payton Grinestaff is the league leader in passing yards this season with 178. The leading receiver in the league this season is Evan Maxey. The Salem star has 5 catches for 52 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Salem takes on the Tigers. At the moment, the Wildcats are in fourth, while Paris is in first.
Effingham made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,590 from 12,450. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-6 victory over Mike Mcdonald's team last week.
