Edgewood is 10-0 against the Indians since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Edgewood Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Grand Saline Indians at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Edgewood has four straight wins, the Indians have eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Edgewood gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 55-28 win over Chisum. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Edgewood had established a 21 point advantage.
Blair McPherson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. She also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Paul, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Grand Saline took a serious blow against the Tigers on Tuesday, falling 69-33. While losing is never fun, Grand Saline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 807th, while the Tigers are ranked 269th).
Edgewood pushed their record up to 23-8 with that win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Grand Saline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season.
Edgewood strolled past the Indians when the teams last played back in January by a score of 47-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edgewood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
