The Rochester Rockets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 59-14 win over Lincoln at home. Considering Rochester has won nine games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rochester had a senior duo take command as Parker Gillespie rushed for 57 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries and Nolan Mrozowski rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Mrozowski hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
Rochester's win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Decatur Eisenhower and 1-8 Lanphier (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.1% over those games). As for Lincoln, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Rochester will be playing in front of their home fans against Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coal City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 123 points over their last three games. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
