The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans are taking a road trip to  take on the Pueblo West Cyclones  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Fountain-Fort Carson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  match with five straight  losses, while Pueblo West will come in with three straight  wins.
Pine Creek hit Fountain-Fort Carson with a four-run first inning  on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans lost  11-1 to the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Pueblo West never let their opponents score on Thursday. They walked away with  a   5-0  victory over Rampart.
 Jaiven Baca was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Baca was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pueblo West's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
 In other batting news,  Logan King was  excellent,  going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  RBI,  and one  double. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  JoJo Mendoza, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Pueblo West pushed their record up to 11-7 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
