Crimson Cliffs has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Desert Hills Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crimson Cliffs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Desert Hills likes a good challenge.
Crimson Cliffs can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Cedar 56-0 at home. 56 seems to be a good number for Crimson Cliffs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Steele Barben continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 296 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Barben is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler West, who picked up 156 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Cedar to a paltry 178 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Crimson Cliffs' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Parker Andrus and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Desert Hills entered their tilt with Snow Canyon with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.5 points. As for Desert Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Everything came up roses for Crimson Cliffs against Desert Hills in their previous meeting back in September as the team secured a 49-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crimson Cliffs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
