Wisconsin high school volleyball: WIAA state tournament recap

Hamilton (Sussex) (39-8), last year's state runner-up, knocked off three-time defending Division 1 state champion Divine Savior Holy Angels (Milwaukee) in three sets (28-26, 25-20, 25-22) to win its second state championship in program history.

Senior Aubrey Hicks led Hamilton with 14 kills, while fellow senior Brooke Baldwin tallied 30 assists and 11 kills.

Divine Savior Holy Angels (44-4) got a team-best 10 kills from senior Maddie Brown.

Sauk Prairie (Prairie du Sac) (31-5) claimed its first WIAA state title in team history, defeating Grafton in the Division 2 championship game in five sets (25-27, 25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 15-11).

Senior Mallory Hartwig, a South Dakota State University commit, finished with a team-best 22 kills for Sauk Prairie, while senior Alaina Kraemer had a match-high 34 assists.

Grafton (29-11) was led by junior Paige Proefrock, who collected a match-high 24 kills.

Manitowoc Lutheran (35-9) captured its second consecutive gold ball. The Lancers, which won last year's Division 4 state title, defeated Luther Prep (Watertown) in four sets (25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 25-21) to claim the Division 3 state championship.

Leading the way for Manitowoc Lutheran were junior Ava Stuebs and senior Abigail Behnke, who collected 21 and 17 kills, respectively.

Sophomore Lorelei Candler tallied a team-high 10 kills for Watertown Luther Prep (35-4).

In Division 4, Heritage Christian (New Berlin) (39-6) won its first state title in program history, beating Regis (Eau Claire) in straight sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-10).

Senior Addie Graebert totaled 12 kills to lead Heritage Christian.

Regis (32-10) finishes as the Division 4 state runner-up for the second straight season. Sophomore Rachel Ridenour tallied a team-best eight kills for the Ramblers.

Rib Lake (33-8) claimed the team's first state championship in program history, beating Newman Catholic (Wausau) in four sets (24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23) in the Division 5 state title match.

Sophomores Madelyn Anderson and Megan Komarek led Rib Lake, finishing with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
