Basketball Recap: Patrick Bennett Key Part of a Team Effort in Force Win

There's no place like home for Shreveport HomeSchool Sports, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They managed a 52-46 victory over the Word of God Academy Force on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Shreveport HomeSchool Sports as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Bennett led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Bennett has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mitchel Martin, who posted ten points.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Word of God Academy only posted three assists.

When it comes to explaining why Word of God Academy lost, don't look at Zyere Cartwright. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 12 on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taj Bell, who had ten points and seven rebounds.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports' victory bumped their record up to 25-12. As for Word of God Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports has already played their next contest, a 41-36 defeat against Bishop Noland Episcopal Day on the 25th. As for Word of God Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-47 loss against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on the 24th.
