The Twin Loup Wolves couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Loup on Friday. Twin Loup has struggled against South Loup recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Twin Loup saw an underclassman step up: Carsen Vincent scored 9 points.
South Loup had a senior duo take command as Bryn Schwarz scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals and Delaney Rogers dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josie Reiff, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Twin Loup's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for South Loup, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Loup will take on Sandhills/Thedford at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Loup, they will head out on the road to face off against Amherst at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
