Antioch moved up to 318 from 369 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Bay Valley. The Panthers were able to make move up by defeating Liberty 48-13.
Freedom extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Deer Valley, 34-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Freedom's dynamic duo of Dante Mayes and Darrell Daniels proved tough for the Wolverines to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mayes threw for 357 yards and Daniels had 195 yards receiving. Devontae Young helped Freedom's passing attack out by catching two balls for 91 yards.
Harris Ross was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 237 yards as Pittsburg beat Deer Valley. Teammate JAMAL LOCKETT added to the ground attack by rushing for 53 yards.
Freedom's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mayes has thrown for 1831 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Daniels has 37 catches for 687 yards. Joe Mixon leads the league in rushing with 1136 yards.
The Falcons' Mayes is within 169 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Lions.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Antioch takes on the Pirates. John Lucido's team is in fourth place, while Pittsburg is in second place.
The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Liberty. Hunter Karnthong threw for 79 yards and ran for 141 yards in the win.
