The Pagosa Springs Pirates had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 42-12 win over Salida. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pagosa Springs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Pagosa Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Lindahl led the charge by rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Jimmy Elledge got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Pagosa Springs has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Salida, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Pagosa Springs will head out on the road to face off against Bayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Salida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
