Estero has gone 9-1 against North Fort Myers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Both will face off at 6:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Estero is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
Estero will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Fort Myers, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Estero walked away with a 43-35 victory over Fort Myers on Monday.
Estero got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amiya Lewis out in front who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least a third of Estero's points. Another player making a difference was Callie Hall, who had ten points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Fort Myers entered their tilt with Lehigh on Monday with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. They claimed a resounding 48-20 victory over the Lightning. The Red Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.
North Fort Myers' win came from a few key players Estero will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bianca Iten, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season. Gia Molloy was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.
North Fort Myers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 30 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
North Fort Myers pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points per game. As for Estero, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Estero has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Fort Myers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Estero strolled past North Fort Myers when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 53-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Estero since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
