The Haskell Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Cisco Loboes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Haskell comes in on five and Cisco on 14.
Haskell proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Anson 7-6.
Paisley Chavez-Guevara was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Reagan Adkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Cisco came out on top against Coleman on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Loboes walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bluecats.
Aubrey Corpus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Pearson Hearne, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mady Diehl, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Cisco kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
Haskell's record now sits at 14-6. As for Cisco, their record is now 17-7-2.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Haskell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Cisco struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Haskell skirted past Cisco 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Loboes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
