Make it 12 blowout wins for the Halifax Academy Knights this season. Everything went their way against Gulf Coast HEAT on Friday as Halifax Academy made off with a 76-50 victory. The win was just what Halifax Academy needed coming off of a 72-45 defeat in their prior game.
Despite the defeat, Gulf Coast HEAT saw an underclassman step up: Steven Scott almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks. Scott is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jackson McCoy was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Halifax Academy's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Halifax Academy will head out on the road to take on First Baptist Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully First Baptist Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Monday. Gulf Coast HEAT does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
