Marshall extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Alton Henderson. The Mavericks blew past the Hallsville Bobcats 47-17 on Friday with plenty of help from Henderson, who rushed for 212 yards and two scores while picking up 13.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 103 yards on six of 11 attempts. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 58 yards.
One reason for the win was Marshall's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Marshall's record now sits at 7-2. As for Hallsville, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
