The Wynot Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Irene/Wakonda 78-31 at home. Wynot's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wynot got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Heine out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. Heine hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Schroeder, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jens Hansen, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Hansen, who scored eight points.
The victory (which was Wynot's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Irene/Wakonda, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Wynot will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tri County Northeast on January 4, 2024. Irene/Wakonda will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hanson at 6:15 p.m. on December 29th.
