Lewisville is 8-2 against Great Falls since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lewisville Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Great Falls Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. Lewisville's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Great Falls' offense will have their work cut out for them.
Lewisville fought the good fight in their overtime game against McBee on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Panthers 40-36. Lewisville has not had much luck with McBee recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Lewisville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mariah Wallace, who scored 16 points along with five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Wallace is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aiyana Murrell, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Great Falls, who are still winless after their 12th match. They suffered a rough 40-20 defeat at the hands of Cambridge Academy back in December of 2023. While losing is never fun, Great Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Cambridge Academy is ranked 102nd).
Lewisville's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3. Great Falls' record now sits at 0-12.
Lewisville beat Great Falls 34-24 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Lewisville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Great Falls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
