Baseball Recap: Overfelt Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Overfelt proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 13) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Royals as they're now sitting on six straight.

ADRIAN BARAJAS and ELIJAH CASTANEDA-AZCUETA did most of the damage at the plate: BARAJAS scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while CASTANEDA-AZCUETA went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. BARAJAS has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. BRANDON GONZALEZ was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Overfelt pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
