Ropes had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Wink Wildcats on Tuesday as the Ropes Eagles made off with a 69-45 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layne Lusby, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alec Berzoza, who had ten points and four steals.
The victory (which was Ropes' third in a row) raised their record to 16-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Wink, their loss dropped their record down to 23-10.
Coming up, Ropes will head out on the road to take on Forsan at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ropes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Forsan likes a good challenge. Wink does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
