With a playoff game on the line, the Williston Red Devils rose to the challenge on Monday. They claimed a resounding 72-7 win over the Sharks on the road. Williston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.
Williston found their leader in underclassman Kaelynn Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. Natreana Akanni was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Williston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Cedar Key, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Williston's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Trenton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Cedar Key does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
