The Great Mills Hornets had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-30 win over Calvert at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-10.
Great Mills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DeAndre Dorsey led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Dorsey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Davis, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Great Mills' victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Calvert, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Huntingtown the next time they take the court. Calvert will host Huntingtown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Great Mills will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
