The Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions are taking a road trip to take on the Dupo Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Christ Our Rock Lutheran's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Dupo's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Casey-Westfield hitters got past them. The Silver Stallions came up short against the Warriors last Thursday, falling 17-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Silver Stallions have suffered since May 4, 2024.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Williamson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Kylie Nalewajka was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Dupo had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Father McGivney Catholic on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Addison Thompson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaylyn Woods, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keara Prater, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Dupo's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-3 record.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Christ Our Rock Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Dupo struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
