South Harrison is 2-7 against the Mountaineers since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Harrison Hawks are on the road again and plays the Liberty Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. South Harrison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 28th).
Last Monday, things could have been worse for South Harrison, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-38 loss to the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Liberty waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 57-43 win over Preston.
South Harrison's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
South Harrison took a serious blow against the Mountaineers in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-22. Can South Harrison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
