After a string of five wins, the Delano Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to McFarland 71-67. Delano has not had much luck with McFarland recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Delano's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ibrahim Shuwait, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. Shuwait hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Jotham Amodo, who scored 18 points.
Delano's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for McFarland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.
Delano will head out on the road to challenge Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Taft is coming into the matchup with five straight victories at home, meaning Delano will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. McFarland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
