Baseball Recap: Columbia Central Has No Trouble Against Warren County

Columbia Central won the last time they faced Warren County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lions put the hurt on the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jack Beck, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Aiden Saum was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Columbia Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Warren County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Coming up, Columbia Central will face off against Columbia Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Warren County, they are taking a road trip to take on Marion County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight.
