After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cresset Christian Academy, the Hillside Hornets were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Wake Forest by a score of 55-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hillside also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Samiyah Barker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The matchup was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynnedy Roberts, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Chiquora Miles and Audra Hillman certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Miles scored 20 points along with seven rebounds, while Hillman dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Hillside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Wake Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillside will face off against Southern Durham at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wake Forest, they will head out on the road to face off against Northern Durham at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
