After flying high against the Santa Fe Raiders last Wednesday, the Buchholz Bobcats came back down to earth. Buchholz was beaten by Bishop Kenny 74-31 on Thursday. Buchholz was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
When it comes to explaining why Buchholz lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamison Cardwell. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Kenny to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Talbert, who scored 14 points. Reese Mayer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and three steals.
Buchholz's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Bishop Kenny, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their 21st straight at home.
Buchholz will head out on the road to face off against Hawthorne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawthorne is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Bishop Kenny, they will take on San Jose Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
