Softball Recap: Amarillo Has No Trouble Against Burkburnett

Amarillo got themselves on the board against Burkburnett on Friday, but Burkburnett never followed suit. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the Burkburnett Bulldogs. Considering the Sandies have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Braylee Shuffield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brylee Baker, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Amarillo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burkburnett only posted an OBP of .000.

Amarillo's win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Burkburnett, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Amarillo will face off against Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Burkburnett, they will take on River Road in a tournament on Saturday. River Road is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
