The Midway Green Wave's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Monterey by a score of 64-54. This was payback for Midway, who suffered a 66-54 loss the last time these two teams met.
Monterey's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Roberson-Barber, who scored 17 points. Roberson-Barber has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Fowler, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Midway's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Monterey, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-21.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midway the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Sunbright at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Monterey will take on Smith County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
