Edgewood is 0-6 against Sullivan since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Golden Arrows at 7:00 p.m. Edgewood's defense has only allowed nine points per game this season, so Sullivan's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Edgewood had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Beech Grove put an end to it on Friday. The Mustangs took a 12-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The game marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Edgewood's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Lincoln Getts was especially locked on to Beech Grove's QB and sacked him twice. Getts is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sullivan). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Owen Valley 63-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Arrows needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Edgewood better keep an eye on Clark French. He was instrumental in Sullivan's win, rushing for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Zane Catlin, who picked up 65 receiving yards and two scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Sullivan proved: they limited Owen Valley to a paltry two yards per carry. The team can thank William Hollifield for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sullivan didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.5.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Sullivan, adding 27 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Paul Ridgway, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Having lost for the first time this season, Edgewood fell to 5-1. As for Sullivan, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Braxton Carpenter and French. Carpenter just won't slow down this season and has averaged 109.5 rushing yards per game. French has been a dominant force too and has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 119.2 rushing yards per game.
Edgewood was taken down by Sullivan 54-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
