Baseball Recap: Centennial Has No Trouble Against Rancho

Centennial had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Rancho on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Rams 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Osburn was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Osburn was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Gabriel Soto looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Tyler Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Preston Clemmons also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancho only posted an OBP of .333.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Rancho, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.

Coming up, Centennial will square off against Basic at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rancho, they will face off against Durango at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trailblazers will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
