The West Union Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 62-28 win over Manchester at home. The win was just what West Union needed coming off of a 60-32 defeat in their prior matchup.
West Union got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlah Staten out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Staten's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madison Stout, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
West Union's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Manchester, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Union will be home for the holidays to greet East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Manchester will finish 2023 at home by hosting North Adams at 6:15 p.m. on December 28th. North Adams presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Manchester in Ohio (North Adams is ranked 111th, while Manchester is ranked 636th).
