Hector has gone 9-1 against Westside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Hector is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Hector's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Two Rivers as they made off with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sarena Myers and Abigail Dodson did most of the damage at the plate: Myers went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Dodson went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Dodson has posted since back in March of 2025. Addison Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hector kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westside). They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Mountainburg on Monday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Torie Nobles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Ayla Highfill was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Cato, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hector's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Westside, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Hector skirted past Westside 4-3 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
