The Holy Cross Crusaders lost against the Accelerate Christian Warriors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Holy Cross falling 59-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Accelerate Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Accelerate Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Myers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Myers hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Leyendecker, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Accelerate Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.
Holy Cross won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Holy Cross Academy at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th. Accelerate Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Christ Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th.
