The Basha Bears will head out to take on the Chandler Wolves at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Basha is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Basha made easy work of Sunnyslope and carried off a 14-3 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Josie Karpenski looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Makaila Quinney was a standout: she fired off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Lainey Clapp also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Basha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Chandler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-3 to Gilbert. Wolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Tigers since on Tuesday.
Ariana Molina was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Maryn Schaffer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Basha's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Chandler, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Basha has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Chandler struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Basha's way against Chandler in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Basha made off with a 17-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
