After three games on the road, Brunswick is heading back home. They will take on the Frederick Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Brunswick scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past St. James 55-24 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Brunswick has managed all season.
Brunswick relied on the efforts of Andie Welsh, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds, and Gabby Stefanic, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stefanic has scored all season. Aeriana Carter was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Frederick earned a 48-38 victory over Urbana last Friday. Given Frederick's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Urbana is ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brunswick's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7. As for Frederick, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Brunswick was dealt a bruising 63-25 loss at the hands of Frederick in their previous matchup back in December of 2016. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brunswick was down 35-11.
